So we have been working on training Beau to do his 'business' on the forward deck. We tried a log from home (complete with his frozen pee from the winter to scent the area), but that didn't work. We've been anchored several nights and he still won't go on the forward deck (he holds it for 18 hours)!! Anyway, Eric decided to add a small patch of fake grass to the log area. Still nothing, despite our earnest efforts to let him know that it's ok.
So what worked? Well, this morning Eric was up before the sun, snuck out to check on our anchor and decided to pee on Beau's grass & log (with Beau watching). When I got up later, I took Beau out to the forward deck to do his business, et voila! He FINALLY peed on the log!!! Guess he didn't appreciate that some other 'animal' had peed on his space. Don't worry, we have a forcefull hose to flush away the remnants. We are just so happy that he finally knows that it's ok to do his business aboard!
In Byng Inlet / Britt for the evening. Headed to Killarney tomorrow to hunker down for a couple of nights. Storm on the way late tomorrow. It will be an early morning. Good night all :)
