Not all who wander are lost.

Eric bought me a fun necklace for our 33rd anniversary on Sept. 17. One of the charms says "not all who wander are lost". AMEN! Some of us actually just want to wander leisurely for a while and experience LIFE away from the normal routine. That would be us.

We left Manistee early and arrived in Lake Muskegon on Tuesday around 4:30 after about 9 hours of great boating (read, no rough seas). This was one of the best days we have had on Lake Michigan ... make hay while the sun shines. Nothing too special about Muskegon, other than a protected harbour for the night.

We were happy to find this protected lake and as much as there wasn't much other than industry around the lake itself, it was a good harbour.

In the morning, we tried to head out twice, only to be pushed back incredible swells that were coming in fiercely from the south. We took cover on the breakwater wall and waited for the weather to pass. Beau got a good walk on the beach after we tied up beneath the lighthouse, just out of the tumultuous seas.

As it turned out, we could not make our way further and had to retreat back into Lake Muskegon for another night. Better safe than sorry. This damn Lake Michigan is as fickle as .... not sure what!

Signing off from Lake Muskegon, MI.
