Well, yesterday started off full of promise. We got up at first light to head south, only to discover a small problem with our 'starter' buttons on the control panel. Despite some assistance from a fellow boater (who is a boat mechanic), we were unable to solve the problem.
However, they were able to isolate the issue and will have a conference call this afternoon with our installer back home to walk through some trouble shooting. Hopefully we'll be on our way soon!
So, that left us free to enjoy the pot-luck Thanksgiving dinner with other boaters in the marina. It was fantastic! There were about 40 of us and food to feed 100! We had a lovely evening, met some new friends and traded tales of the loop so far. Boat cards (think business cards with all of our contact info & boat name), and hopes to meet up further along the journey were exchanged.
We felt like honourary Americans as we participated in their celebration and enjoyed their company for the evening. It also gave us time again to pause and realize how very fortunate we are - and thankful - to be enjoying this adventure together. Hoping that we resolve our starter issue soon and can be on our way again!
